Passion Project
For this project I decided to make a business proposal, and start a business. I made a long proposal of 14 pages, including a description of what I wanted to do, capital costs sheet, Income and Expenses sheet, a Schedule, Price list, and individual items for rent. With the beginning pages I made a clear list of what I envisioned for the future of my business. In the capital cost sheet there is a description of what I expect for the first few months/year. With the Income/Expenses sheet there is also what I expect to buy, sell, and make throughout the first few months and years of being a business. With the schedule, which I will follow to a T, was was I thought would be best for business, alternating paintball and airsoft, with the occasional special event and comp. Now for the big WHY. I saw that the closest arena people have for airsoft can be up to 3 hours away from durango, and with me and my friends constantly playing on my fields, we need a change of scenery. With us having constant arguments, and other issues with my property, a better, larger, more professional and appropriate place to play airsoft, was in order.
I am personally proudest of my Business proposal I made for my airsoft business, It took me the longest to do, it also was really satisfying when I did finish it. It was short and sweet in the beginning, small descriptions, and ideas here and there. I then made it clean, crisp, and neat. Clean paragraphs, neatly laid out in a particular order, and neat looking to the eye. Each paragraph contained thought out ideas and plans for the future. That wasn’t even the best part. I then added Capital cost sheets, Income and expenses sheet, and made mathematical estimations for what I might expect in the first year or so. I spent countless hours on the entire proposal, more than likely 15 or more. I spent a large majority of my time looking for buildings and land that’s at a fair price, with a fair size, and buildings and other equipment that was reasonable and fit my expectations. I ended up with some land up near Bayfield, and seeing that it was flat like I wanted, I would go with the idea of mainly trench warfare, a tire maze, and a large hill for KOTH (King of the hill). I made a schedule that I would follow for during the summer, and mostly for the school year.
Personally, I’m going to go through with the business and actually start it with my free-time this summer, after I get back from my few trips. I would start by buying the land and putting myself, and my friends to work building the trenches and other parts of the fields. I would then next have people put fence in around the property. I would next have people come and start build a building and other parts for the arena. That itself would take at least a month of work. I next would be on the verge of completion of building the base parts. Next we would add fences (wooden, metal, and chain) for cover, cars, tires, hills, small buildings, lager but not too large buildings, tire maze, towers, buses, and other small parts to the fields. Finally, with those few months of work, I’d ask Taylor and Parker and their business to create a trailer or a advertisement for the business. Finally, id buy all of the gear and other necessities for the business. Finally, by sometime much later in the school year, in October or sometime near that we would open for business.
