I have confirmed a writing internship with Stephanie Johanesen, AKA Miranda Mayer she is a fantasy writer based out of Oregon. I wanted to do something with animals, but I didn't find that suiting after a few months, I then decided to look towards my writing/reading passions. I emailed so many people, and got a few maybes, then later in that month or months, a no. So I reached out to my community and found out that one of my mothers friends writes books! So I contacted her and got a immediate yes! so she started to give me little things that I need do like a skeleton book (which is just what I want & the characters I will have in it) She said it should be around 20,000 pages and my book 45k+
1/11/19 Anticipation and Preparation
Currently in my process of finding a LINK internship, I have come across two internships that i'm looking forward to, the first is one where I will be traveling across the country moving and caring for animals. and the second is a internship in a law and Attorneys office where I will work with Attorneys and official people in the law degree. I am still waiting on a confirmation from either of them, even though I've talked to both of them thoroughly.
11/5 Anticipation and Preparation
So far for this LINK Internship, I have begun contacting one of my potential mentors, and currently the most frustrating part of that is the anticipation of their answer. Other than that, the process has been quite smooth.

Link Info and Project Reflection
It took a long while for me to find my internship since I was told that finding a writer willing to have someone intern with them was a slim chance. I started looking for internships that I could work with animals since I love helping them. I contacted a park up in Denver and one of my parents old friends that worked as a zookeeper, neither of them replied. I then turned to other places I could go, maybe down to Cabo to see my old dive instructor but I quickly learned that he was out at sea and I was unable to contact him. I then turned back towards writing, something I though I may just have a passion for because after all I really preferred writing papers and such in class than anything else. I reached out to a couple local Writers who were unable to do anything worth while with me. My mother then stepped in and helped me and I quickly found out that one of my mothers best friend has a sister that wrote novels, and luckily for me they were in my favorite category which is fantasy. I started contacting her further and learned that she would be super exited for me to intern with her, but she also gave me a daunting task. A skeleton book. a skeleton book is a book that is as simple as it sounds. a pre-book that is filled with plot, characters, themes, ideas, and other potential snippets you want to add. I really hope to get a lot more writing skill and also learn what it really is like to be a writer.
Reflection
One thing I am very grateful I had coming into this internship was work ethic and patience. Two skills I really took for granted. I didn't think writing would be so strenuous on ones mind and how long and tiring it would be. Just being able to sit down, look at my screen and say "let’s go" or "let’s do this” got harder to do each day because of how long I would just sit and write. After a while my drive started to fail, my own world was crumbling just as fast as I was making it. my ideas and thoughts were running short is was hard coming up with so many things and shaping my own little world. I started struggling to keep a schedule, until I made a solid one. one that fit my mind not anyone else's. I realized I could go at my own pace at my own time. I could sleep in until 10 if I felt like it, and I did. I grew into a better writer I was more independent and confident. Because in the beginning I kept thinking that what I wrote was not good or up to par. But when I made these changes I grew and grew into a more confident writer. Besides it was my work and it can always improve. I thought to myself I can do better, but this is a great start. Just needs some proof reading. Then all of a sudden, it was easy I wasn't feeling tired or not-creative. I'm not entirely sure if Miranda would be willing to accept interns from Animas. After all every writer has their secrets.
Since I am done with this internship I am feeling a lot more confident in what I’m going to do later on in life. I can focus on what colleges I want to go to because I can center them around writing because that is what I’m wanting to do now. I see that writing is defiantly the line of work I will be following. Before LINK I was very very lost I didn’t really know what I was going to do for my life. But after LINK I figured out that writing is my passion.
