Classy Project Description: My groups project was a simple building that branched out in the different wings, one wing held the freshman and sophomores and the other opposite wing held the seniors and juniors. The final wing was for art, Spanish and other non core classes. At the entrance was a circular commons area, witch Libby, Sean and other staff's offices are. This school also has a very large parking-lot for everyone to enjoy. Our lot has enough space for every senior - junior, along with staff and visitors to park wherever they so please.
Take-aways: (2) With This Project I learned a lot about rendering and editing images in Sketchup and Kerkythea. I found its really difficult to understand in the beginning. After a while I finally started to learn and understand more about these new programs.
(4) Building budgeting was really fun for me, because I LOVE math! The budgeting was surprisingly easy of me to do and calculate, and I had a lot of fun time doing one of the wings of our school. I learned that buildings can be VERY expensive and costly. I also believe this is a future career path I am willing to look into!
Group reflection: Some things that stood out to me were that we were given the information that we needed... in the end, witch was disappointing. Some other points that stood out were that a minuscule part of some of the work we did was not very helpful, nor did it go into the final product. The most difficult thing for me was distraction, I was in a group with one of my best friends. It made it hard to work sometimes as we both have a awesome sense of humor. We laughed and giggled and had fun times, and yes we all got our work done. If I could change about how I worked in my group I would change only one thing. I would do my best not to get distracted as often, witch is one of my biggest flaws. Sometimes when I was in my group I would slack or do my part later because I had something else to do, that changed, fast. In the beginning of this project I jumped on everything and everything that was given to me. I demolished my work, and in some way exceed my own expectations! I was able to collaborate with more people than I usually like, I work better with one person usually. In this case I liked working with three other people, it made the project go easier.
Relevance/self evaluation: I believe that having students design the campus for future generations is really cool, but also important because we know "what's up" or "what's hot". We also can design spaces to be much more comfortable and dope for them to relax in. witch is a very important part to me, because a feeling of home is very cozy and relaxing.
